For the past 20 years, Lorena Forster has worked with early stage technology companies, entrepreneurs and inventors in various technology commercialization related positions and through her own business advisory practise, most notably in the industrial, energy and ICT industries. Through her business Technology Venture Strategy, Lorena works with SMEs providing business advisory assistance and helping them develop strategies to access Alberta innovation eco-system resources and non-dilutive funding. Lorena has had various positions with organizations in the Edmonton and Calgary innovation eco-system including the Kinetica Energy Technology Accelerator (part of Innovate Calgary), TEC Edmonton, and Alberta Innovates (formerly the Alberta Research Council). She has experience in business operations in both the public and private sectors as COO of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs and Operations Manager of an ICT healthcare software startup.
Volunteer positions include: board member and active mentor for the University of Alberta Venture Mentoring Service (VMS), mentor with Futurpreneur, past board member/ treasurer of the Alberta Clean Technology Industry Association (ACTia), past co-chair of the Edmonton Chapter of the Licensing Executive Society and various executive positions on junior high and high school parent advisory committees.
Having recently retired as an assurance partner with BDO Canada LLP., Stuart’s career as both a Scottish and Canadian Chartered Accountant also included being an Audit Partner with PwC in Calgary. His professional experience includes working with boards and management of private and public companies in the resource sector, industry, and private organizations. While most of his former clients were based in Calgary, his business travels included the USA, South America, SE Asia, Europe and the UK (where he was BDO Canada's liaison partner for a number of years). Retirement brings new opportunities for Stuart with the formation of Chalmers Advisory Inc. and as an advisor to Assure Corporate Solutions in Calgary (www.assurecorporate.com). Stuart’s role on the Advisory Group will bring financial governance and guidance to DSI.
With over 15 years of inflight experience and management, she adds tremendous value to our team on feedback on product design, utilization and application training for the transportation industry specifically.
Kelley is an accredited financial professional with 15+ years of corporate finance leadership, consulting, corporate development (corporate finance, strategic planning, research and financial analysis experience with, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures). 10+ years financial advisory experience in one of the leading chartered accounting practices.

Julien joins the DSI Advisory Board with an extensive background in aviation, airports and corporate strategy, Prior to his retirement, Julien held a senior executive roles with the Calgary Airport Authority for over 10 years, seeing it become one of Canada’s premiere operating airport authorities,. Prior to that he spent 2 years with the Montreal Airport authority after a long career with Air Canada, where his last position was Director for Corporate Strategy. Today he sits on several Charity Boards and travel extensively with his wife Glynis.
Peters career has included senior positions at Canadian Airlines and in Ottawa as Legal Counsel for the Canadian Transport Commission and Executive Assistant to two federal ministers of transport. Mr. Wallis is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and serves on the Board of the Calgary International Film Festival, Tourism Calgary, and the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. He is Past Chairman of the Calgary Airport Authority, Past President of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, and Past Vice-Chair of the Calgary Homeless Foundation. He serves as Honorary Consul for Mongolia in Alberta. Peter Wallis was recently awarded an honorary life membership by the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC). He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall and a Master of Laws from the University of London (England).
Tom retired from Petro-Canada in 2005, following 35 years in the Oil and Gas Industry, in a diverse range of management functions. At the time of his retirement, Tom was Manager of Supply Chain Management and Facilities Management for Petro-Canada with functional accountability for the company’s Global Supply Chain strategies. In that role he was also responsible for Global Travel services and brings to the table over 20 years senior management experience with Corporate Travel. Currently, Tom is actively involved with investment and wealth management on a private basis.
Gary resides in Edmonton, and is past President and Co Owner of Marlin Travel, which at the time was Canada’s largest independent travel management company with customers such as the Federal Government, CBC, Petro-Canada and Trans Canada Pipelines to name a few. He was also past chair of Global travel management. Gary hold both a CPA and CMA designations.
With 25 years experience in senior executive roles in both Operations and Business Development with Newalta and Clean Harbors, Harley will bring to our team, the critical focus on managing the enviromental requirements and commuciation to our key customers, as well as advising the group on overall strategy on this very sensitive manufacturing concern.
